children's ministries

East Heights encourages children to participate in worship with their parents.  "A Time for Young Christians" is a part of the 11:00 service and Children's Bulletins are available at all services.

Encourage your child to be involved in the worship:
Have them stand when the congregation stands.
Have them help you find hymns in the hymnal.
Stand beside them as you sing and show them how to find the words of the song, even if they don’t read yet.
Encourage them to show appropriate attitudes during prayer times.
Open the Bible when the Scriptures are read, so your child begins to understand their importance to you and to the act of worshipping.
There are some times in the service when a child will be restless and need something to do: Get a children’s bulletin from the usher when you enter. But don’t give it to them too soon, or they will finish it and then be bored during the part of the service that is least appealing to them—the sermon!
Involve them as much as possible in the act of worshipping. We teach them how to worship by our own worshipping examples!

In the lives of children, our part as adult mentoring Christians is to show them and teach them how to life a Godly life. Worship is a very important of this life, and they are never too young to learn how to worship!
