Music Ministries
 

The East Heights Music Ministry offers all ages many opportunities for the worship and celebration of God through music. Members and friends of East Heights can participate in musical ensembles for worship services and other departmental programs.

It is so often easy in a church the size of East Heights for the individual to shy away from musical opportunities and "let someone else do it." If you have received the gift of talent, nurture it and return it to God. The Music Ministry of East Heights can provide an invaluable source of artistic and spiritual enrichment in your life. Since December of 1996, the music at East Heights has been under the direction of Brenda Heard. Brenda is continually seeking creative ways to use music which brings new life to worship. She understands that the mission of the music department is to glorify God through music by energizing and adding to worship rather than becoming a performance and drawing away from worship.

Adult Choirs
 
Chancel Choir
Wednesday, 7:00-8:30p.m.        Undercroft 011
This adult choir sings every Sunday in the 11:00 worship service. The choir does music that is challenging and varied in style, as well as major works with an orchestra. July is their vacation month. Director: Brenda Heard
Youth Choir
 
Young Spirit
Wednesday, 6:00-7:15 p.m.        Youth Center
East Heights' exciting youth choir, grades 7 through 12, sings regularly in worship at the 8:45 and 11:00 a.m. services. The choir hosts various fundraisers each year and participates in Youth Sunday and Easter Sunrise service. The culmination of their year is a choir tour in June.

Children's Choirs
 
The children's choirs at East Heights offer an opportunity for children to discover that music is fun. Rehearsals include musical games, activities and lots of singing. Children's choirs sing about once a month in a worship service.

Fifth graders occasionally make worship presentations or assist in worship in other ways in addition to singing with the choir.

Adult bell choir offered for those who prefer to rehearse during the day.

Ringing Belles will resume rehearsals in January of 2008.

An intermediate/advanced mixed adult choir.

Joyful Noise Choir

Third through sixth grade choir utilizing hand chimes and Orff instruments.
