Saturday Lunches for the Homeless ensures that the city's hungry receive a warm, nourishing meal on a Saturday. People are needed to help prepare and serve a meal on the fourth Saturday of every other month. This ministry feeds more than 100 people served by the United Methodist Drop In Center.

Costa Rica Mission Trip enriches lives (theirs and ours) through Christian mission. A team travels to Costa Rica in January to help with light construction (all skill levels are needed), sewing and crafts and to teach Vacation Bible School. One day is spent on recreation/sightseeing. Cost is $1,000 per person and scholarships are available. Children under age 16 may participate if accompanied by parent or guardian.

Fun with Friends - Respite Care provides some much-needed time off for parents and caregivers of special needs children. Parents and caregivers can drop off their children (special needs children and siblings) for an afternoon of fun, crafts and snacks. Helpers are needed to play with and care for the children. Experience with special needs children is not necessary, but Boundary Awareness Training and a background check are required. Held four times a year (February, May, September and December) on a Sunday afternoon.

Handyman Repair Team helps make minor building repairs at the church and in the homes of the elderly and shut-ins. If you are handy, your skills would be appreciated.

Habitat for Humanity is a Christian housing ministry that helps build decent, affordable housing for qualified families in need. Church workdays are scheduled during the year. You don't need construction experience - training and tools are provided.

Tutoring Ministry ensures that struggling students at Jefferson Elementary School receive the extra one-on-one attention they need to succeed in school. Tutors and mentors are needed to help students with reading, math or just play games and listen to them for one hour a week on Thursday afternoons from 4:15 - 5:15, or during lunchtime. Permanent and substitute tutors are needed. Training is offered through the school district.
