A Word of Welcome

Hello.  My name is J C Kelley and I’m the senior pastor at East Heights UMC.  At East Heights UMC you will find people who will welcome you with open arms.  It doesn't matter if you've been attending church your whole life or if this is your first time to be in a worship service.  Our new members tell us that they felt comfortable at East Heights from the very first service. It is our desire that you will have this same experience.

What can you expect at East Heights?
  • Worship services that are Christ centered, passionate, and life-changing.
  • Sermons that are both biblical and relate to how to live the Christian life today.
  • A choice of traditional, contemporary, and come as you are worship services from which to choose.
  • Classes on both Sunday morning and during the week to help you and your family grow in the faith.
  • Life changing children’s and youth ministries.
  • People with a heart to serve the poor.
  • A church that is still seeking how best to serve God.

We are a United Methodist church.  That means we are biblical and Christ centered, yet have the tolerance John Wesley talked about when he said, “But as to all opinions which do not strike at the root of Christianity, we think and let think.”
The United Methodist church believes that scripture is primary and tradition, experience and reason are used to interpret it.

It is my sincere prayer that you encounter the living resurrected Christ in every worship service, Bible study, Sunday school class, youth or children’s activity.  If you do not know Christ as your Lord and Savior we would like to help you in that relationship.  If you do know Christ we’d like to help you grow in your faith and find ways to live it out.

I would like to offer you an invitation to live a life that matters…to make a difference!  East Heights wants to make a real difference in your faith, in your relationships and how you relate to Wichita and the world.
