Children's Ministry

Looking Ahead: 

  • April 3rd, 2024 – BAM Night! (this is March’s BAM night, shifted slightly because of Holy Week).

  • April 24th, 2024 – BAM Night!

  • May 15th, 2024 – End of the Year Party! We will celebrate our milestones and the end of another school year at 6:45 in the Treehouse.

  • June 10th – 14th – Camp Week.

  • July 15th-19th – Camp Firelight VBS, 9am-noon.

Activities and classes for children through 5th grade are available on Sunday mornings and on Wednesday evenings during the school year at East Heights. The church also hosts free, special activities for the community several times a year, including Vacation Bible School during the summer, an Easter-egg hunt in the spring and Trunk or Treat in the fall. Check the Events section during the year for  information about these activities.

Camp Firelight VBS, July 15-19

Ages 3 (Potty Trained) through 5th grade.

Come and be a part of Camp Firelight at East Heights UMC this summer! Join us from July 15th to 19th, 9am to 12pm, for an exciting Summer Camp Adventure with God. Through captivating Bible stories, we'll delve into the lives of individuals who experienced the profound gift of trusting in God. Discover how we too can forge a deep connection with God, finding courage in moments of fear, strength in times of challenge, and purpose in answering God's call to spread the message of love through Jesus Christ. Don't miss out on this enriching experience where we explore faith, trust, and the power of God's unwavering love.

 

Sunday School

9:45-10:45: EH Kids

11:00-12:00: EH Kids (Kids start in service and come upstairs after children’s time)

At East Heights, we believe that even the very youngest are ready and eager to develop their faith and relationship with God. To help the children on their journey, we offer church school at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings for children ages 3 through fifth grade. Everyone meets upstairs, in The Summit, and all are welcome! If you are a newcomer, please ask one of our greeters to help you find the appropriate classroom.

We also offer Godly Play, a time for children ages 4 through 4th grade attending the 11 a.m. sanctuary service, to learn Bible stories. After the Time for Young Christians during 11 a.m. service, children will be directed to follow the Godly Play teacher to The Summit. Parents can pick up their children upstairs in The Summit after worship.

Wednesday Evening Activities for Children

Children’s choirs and activities are available for children 4 years – 5th grade on Wednesday evenings during the school year upstairs in The Summit:

6:15: Heart & Soul and Rainbow Choirs

6:45-7:45: EH Kids Wednesday

7:45-8:15: Arcade and Kidzone (for those who need to stay longer than 7:45)

Elevate Kids uses theme-based, Bible-driven, character lessons to immerse children in a world of creative and relevant biblical lessons with main points and Bible verses using games, music, skits, crafts and more!

Children’s Day Out

A caring, learning environment is offered for children 3 months through 5 years of age on Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., so kids and parents can have a day out. Find out more about Children’s Day Out.
