Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry Team at East Heights love to be with, listen and grow with youth!

We know what the youth and their parents are going through, and God has given us the gifts needed to make a difference in the lives of young people and their families.  Want to get connected with the youth department? Contact Youth Ministries Director Paige Nelson at 682-6518.

We Have a Mission!

East Heights youth also serve others, coming together monthly in mission. They pack school supplies for kids in need, “adopt” a family every Christmas, participate in the 30-Hour Famine and more.

The middle schoolers spend a week in mission in Kansas City or Oklahoma City each summer.

The High School Mission Team travels to Tennessee to fulfill the physical, spiritual, social and emotional needs of the people in the Cumberland Mountains every July.

Other opportunities

Reel to Real: High-school youth are invited the second Thursday of the month to the Nelson’s home (447 S. Elypco) from 6 to 9 p.m. for dinner, a movie and more.

Youth Ministries offers retreats, lock-ins, mission trips, a float trip and more!

Suicide prevention resources

East Heights youth hosted a seminar on suicide prevention. Bradley Burnett, whose son took his own life, shared ways to reach out and listen when someone is hurting. Burnett, who now is certified in suicide prevention, shared these vital ideas on a suicide-prevention awareness sheet.
