80th Anniversary Celebration – April 26th: In celebration of our 80th Anniversary, our church is raising $27,000 for Family Promise of Wichita, a meaningful amount that reflects the original cost of the land where our church now stands. As we give thanks for the foundation laid by those who came before us, we are also investing in the future by supporting families transitioning out of homelessness in our community. To help reach this goal, we are offering stained-glass ornaments featuring our church logo, for a suggested offering of $20 available for purchase this Sunday in the Coffee House as a special keepsake of this milestone year. We also invite family and friends to join us on April 26 for a joyful celebration of 80 years of ministry. We will gather for one worship service at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary, followed by a meal and fellowship in Hedrick Hall at 12 p.m.

Update Crestway Tree Removal and Douglas Tree Trimming: This week, all of the trees on the west side of our building along Crestway Street were removed to prevent potential damage and the spread of infestation to nearby vegetation and structures. Trees along Douglas were also trimmed to remove dead limbs and reduce the risk of branches falling onto the busy street. East Heights in no way was informed about the tree removal or when street access would be blocked.  While it is difficult to see mature trees removed or heavily trimmed, the city determined these steps were necessary to address safety concerns and protect surrounding areas.

Monday Night Lenten Study began Monday, March 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the East Transept: This Lenten season, gather at the table with Jesus and his disciples to experience the journey from Palm Sunday to the cross through the stories that prepared the way. In his study, The Last Supper: Conversations that Led to the Cross, Will Willimon’s accessible yet profound insights will transform how you understand both the Last Supper and your own place at Christ’s table. Study guides are available in the Program Office. If you have questions or would like to still join us, you may contact Paige Nelson at paige@ehumc.org
