East Heights is entering an exciting season of prayer, discernment, and ministry.
To help us move forward together, we are inviting church leaders, ministry teams, and volunteers to a special Living the Vision gathering on Monday, July 27th, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in Hedrick Hall.
As East Heights looks to the future, this gathering will be a time to seek God’s direction together and explore how we can more fully live out our mission to Love God, Love Neighbor, and Serve the World. Through prayer and conversation, we’ll celebrate what God is doing among us, discern where He is leading us next, and consider how we can continue growing our impact in the church and our community.
Pizza will be provided before we begin our discussion. To help us order enough food, please be sure to let us know that you are coming by calling the church office or emailing Taylor Rohr, taylor@ehumc.org

Lancy Spencer is joining East Heights UMC by transfer of membership from College Heights United Methodist Church in Pittsburg, Kansas, on July 26, 2026, in the 11:00 worship service. Lancy is retired and enjoys collecting coins, playing golf, hiking, and traveling.
Thank you everyone for an amazing week at Snowball Mountain Challenge VBS! Over the past week East Heights hosted 85 children and over 40 volunteers who learned that we can do all things through him who strengthens us! We learned through music, games, science, crafts, Bible stories, and snacks. Thank you to everyone who donated; your donations allowed us to care so fully for the children from our congregation and the community that joined us this week. We also thank the United Women in Faith for running the Volunteer Snack Room, and we thank everyone who brought in snacks to keep our amazing volunteers fed and cared for. Our 5th grade mission crew went out into the community and served 4 different agencies this week, as well as hosting a car wash. This year our VBS Mission project was raising funds for the Special Olympics Kansas through change war. The kids raised $455.83!
All Young Adults are Invited to our Young Adult Meet-ups! ALL WOMEN OF EAST HEIGHTS – SAVE THE DATE! East Heights UWF is sponsoring MRS. POTTS HIGH TEA on Sunday, August 2nd at 4:00 p.m. in Hedrick Hall. This is an end of summer get together for ALL women of East Heights as we celebrate the end of summer and get ready for fall. It is a time to dress up (optional), put on your favorite hat (optional) and bring your favorite tea bag, tea cup (or glass) and have some good ole socializing. Bring your friends, daughters, grandmas, mothers, etc. We will be serving hot and cold tea and some delicious munchies. Please join us in this fellowship and fun!
School Supply Drive for Jefferson Elementary: East Heights UMC is partnering again with Jefferson Elementary to be sure their students have the supplies they need for a successful school year! The items needed include: 1.5 inch binders, dividers (preferably the ones with pockets), pencil pouches, pencils, highlighters, red pens, blue pens, black pens, and Expo Markers. You may drop these items off at the church during office hours on the round table outside of the Program Office! The church is also collecting financial gifts for a “Jefferson Back to School” offering if you would prefer to make a financial gift (you may mail in or find this option on Vanco). Preferred deadline for financial gifts and school supplies is August 7th so the students can have their items by the first day of school. Thank you for your contribution!
Quilts of Valor: A Quilt of Valor is a civilian award to our veterans and active duty members. The recipient earned the Quilt of Valor through selfless service and sacrifice in defense of our nation. Recipients are nominated based on their military service and the award focuses on that service. A Quilt of Valor is not a gift nor is it a “surprise” to the recipient. It is an award honoring military service. East Heights honors our veterans and active duty members with a Quilt of Valor, contact the church office at (316) 682-6518. You may donate to help defray the cost of materials either by writing a check to East Heights UMC with the memo “Quilts of Valor” or by choosing Quilts of Valor on Vanco.
